Outdoor Vista

Just south of Ponca, AR is a real gem in geology. The Lost Valley and it's Eden Falls is a short hike that most anyone can do. Only the last part is a bit strenuous with the climbing of uneven stairs. Some of the first part is even handicap accessible. There are also caves to explore. Just outside this park area is where Elk have been introduced. You can often hear them bellow through the valleys. If you are wanting to float the river or looking for something to eat...stop by Buffalo Outdoor Center in Ponca.

Hemmed In Hollow is located on the Upper Buffalo River in Arkansas. The trail we took was the Old River Trail (ORT) from Kyle's Landing. There were 5 river crossings on the way in but, most of the water was only calf deep. Some places were a bit slippery. This a good trail to Hemmed In Hollow if you want a fairly flat way to get there. Hemmed In Hollow is known as the tallest waterfall between the Appalachians and the Rockies. Some say it is around 250 feet high and others say around 205. One thing for sure is it is a wet weather waterfall so, Spring is probably a better time to make this hike. I hope you enjoy the video!
